K type, also known as 2.92mm RF connector, is a commonly used millimeter wave connector. The frequency of use can up to 40 GHz. With air interface, it can be interchanged with SMA series and 3.5mm connectors. It has the advantages of small size, light weight, high frequency of use and reliable connection.

Compared to common SMA connectors, the 2.92mm RF connector offers the following advantages:

Wider Bandwidth: SMA connectors typically operate up to 18 GHz, whereas 2.92mm connectors easily support frequencies beyond 40 GHz.

Lower Loss: At 40 GHz, the insertion loss of a 2.92mm rf connector is only about one-third that of an SMA connector.
Higher Reliability: The outer conductor wall is generally thicker than that of an SMA RF connector, and it features a unique resilient contact design for improved durability.
