Male CONNECTORS HAVE SMOOTH HOLES (SB) FOR EASY CONNECTION AND DISCONNECTION, LIMITED STOP (LD) PROVIDES A DEGREE OF INSERTION AND WITHDRAWAL EFFORT, AND FULL STOP (FD) requires a LARGE insertion AND WITHDRAWAL effort. In blind fitting applications, one shield connector is usually designated as a snap-back interface and the other as a sliding sleeve interface. This ensures that the bullet adapter remains anchored in the same shield connector when the connection is disconnected. The full stop (FD) and limited stop (LD) interfaces have different coupling and decoupling forces respectively. LD is usually selected as a snap interface for PCB mounting or blind matching applications, while FD is mainly used for cable connections requiring high retention. The two sliding interfaces, Smooth Bore (SB) and Catcher's Mitt (CM), allow for reduced connections compared to the snap-on interface. The push-in interface creates a sliding connection that does not physically align with the reference plane, allowing axial and radial misalignments. SB and CM have the same bonding/disengagement force. However, the CM is usually specified as a shield configuration in blind fit applications because its wide introduction chamfer helps capture the bullet and guide it into place.
