N-Type RF Coaxial Connector: Suitable for frequencies ranging from DC to 11 GHz. Compared to SMA, its larger physical size helps transmit high-power, high-frequency signals more efficiently, significantly reducing signal loss and distortion.
SMA RF Coaxial Connector: Suitable for frequencies ranging from DC to 18 GHz. Its compact size allows for integration into miniaturized devices while maintaining excellent electrical performance even at high frequencies.
N-Type RF Coaxial Connector: Due to its larger size and contact area, it effectively dissipates heat and remains stable under prolonged high-load operation. N-Type connectors can handle higher power, such as transmitting signals over 100W.
SMA RF Coaxial Connector: Due to its small size and contact area, the power handling capability of SMA connectors is relatively limited. As frequency increases, the power handling capability decreases sharply, making it suitable for low-power applications.
N-Type RF Coaxial Connector: Larger and heavier, suitable for applications requiring high power and low frequency.
SMA RF Coaxial Connector: Small and lightweight, suitable for applications with limited space and requiring high frequency.
N-Type RF Coaxial Connector: Available in 50 ohms and 75 ohms versions. The 50-ohm version is commonly used in RF and microwave applications, while the 75-ohm version is used in video and broadcast applications. Currently, Elite Electronics mainly offers the 50-ohm version of N-Type connectors.
SMA RF Coaxial Connector: Typically 50 ohms, suitable for RF and microwave applications.
N-Type RF Coaxial Connector: Commonly used in base stations, antennas, radar systems, and other applications requiring high power and low frequency.
SMA RF Coaxial Connector: Commonly used in test and measurement equipment, communication modules, and other applications requiring high frequency, low power, and miniaturization.
N-Type RF Coaxial Connector: Threaded connection (5/8 - 24 UNEF), larger in size compared to SMA, providing higher mechanical strength and reliability. The threaded structure offers more reliable connection stability, can withstand numerous insertion and removal cycles without excessive wear, and is vibration-resistant, shock-resistant, and suited for extreme temperature variations.
SMA RF Coaxial Connector: Threaded connection (1/4 - 36 UNS), its fine threads are prone to wear due to improper handling or frequent insertion and removal. Suitable for high-frequency applications with no significant physical stress.
If your application requires handling high power and frequencies up to 18 GHz, it is recommended to choose N-Type connectors. If your application requires high frequency and has strict requirements on size and weight, it is recommended to choose SMA connectors.
